Dave Thurston has over 45 years’ experience in office equipment. As founder of North West Digital, he helps businesses across Stockport, Manchester and Cheshire find print solutions that suit the way they work and cost less to run.

From typewriters to North West Digital

Dave began his career as a typewriter engineer. In the 1980s, he set up a business supplying computers and support services, which he later sold.

He then joined Lanier UK, now part of Ricoh, moving from sales into National Accounts. There, he managed accounts including the Post Office, TNT and BASF.

Dave founded North West Digital in 2001, bringing that technical and commercial experience together to help businesses find print solutions that suit the way they work.

Dave’s approach to print

Dave starts by understanding how a business uses its equipment and what it costs to run. From there, he looks for practical ways to make printing more efficient and cost-effective, rather than simply recommending more equipment.

That approach has helped North West Digital build lasting relationships: many clients have been with the business for more than ten years.

Based in Stockport

North West Digital has been based in Stockport for around 25 years, building relationships with businesses across Stockport, Manchester and Cheshire.

The company has previously been a member of both the Stockport and Greater Manchester Chambers of Commerce and has supported several local charities over the years.
